With over 27 years of experience working with young people in education, Sue is dedicated to helping teens overcome barriers and reach their full potential. As a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA, Level 2) and the Queensland Guidance and Counselling Association (QGCA), she specialises in fostering mental health, self-discovery, and resilience in teens through evidence-based counselling practices. Having lived and worked in the beautiful Whitsundays for over 14 years, Sue brings both personal and professional insights into her work with young people and their families. Beyond her professional life, she is a devoted mum raising four teenagers, which enriches her understanding and approach to supporting families.
At Strength2Shine, Sue offers comprehensive support for teens and families facing a wide range of challenges. Services include individual teen counselling sessions, providing a safe, confidential space for adolescents to explore their feelings and develop coping strategies. Sue also offers parent/carer support sessions designed to help navigate the complexities of parenting teenagers, improve communication, and strengthen family connections. Sue’s approach integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), tailored to meet each young person’s unique needs and goals.
Sue is available for in-person sessions in Proserpine and also offers online consultations to accommodate various needs.
