Meaghan is a Registered Counsellor and End of Life Doula, who specialises in supporting individuals and families as they navigate ‘End of Life experiences’. Her counselling sessions offer a continuum of care that can extend from an initial diagnosis right through to bereavement support after death. Death is a uniquely individual experience that affects both the dying and their loved ones, resulting in complex and diverse expressions of grief. This grief at times can bring people together, and at other times can leave one feeling isolated and unsure of whom they can lean on for support.
Meaghan offers that support in a practical and empathetic way. Tailored support could learning the practicalities that need to be considered as one approaches death, preparing emotional wills and planning your funeral, making plans for death and exploring contingency plans, understanding the dying process and what might be expected, strengthening family bonds during this difficult time, managing the complex emotions that arise before and after death, connecting to your religious or spiritual beliefs around death, creating space for difficult and overwhelming and sometimes taboo subjects, learning to live with grief and loss
Counselling sessions for individuals or families can take place onsite at Whitsunday Counselling Services, via telehealth (Zoom/Teams) and where one is too unwell to travel, home visits are available.
